Message	just answered your own question. While your car's engine is running, A/C running, and not moving, it would stand to reason that your mileage *IS* going to suffer to some extent. Try leaving at a time when traffic delays aren't quite so bad, then let us know what kind of mileage your getting. TTs like to breathe. Take the long way and enjoy the ride.
